The App Directory in Nudge Security is your organization’s trusted hub for finding and accessing approved software and services. Instead of guessing whether an app is safe or manually requesting access, employees can quickly check the App Directory to see what tools are centrally managed, secure, and ready to use.
By using the App Directory, you help:
Keep company data secure
Reduce duplicate or unauthorized tools ("shadow IT")
Save time by accessing apps your IT/security teams already support
How to enable the App Directory
You can enable the App Directory by going to Settings > Organization Settings. On that page you will be able to scroll down and turn on the App Directory.
Here, you can also choose which types of apps appear in the directory. We recommend displaying approved apps, but you can also include those with other approval statuses if you’d like to provide broader visibility of what is acceptable, not permitted, etc.
Giving your workforce access to Nudge Security
To give your workforce access to the App Directory, each user’s role must be set to Personal View or higher. We recommend setting Personal View as the default role so that any new or unassigned users automatically have access to the App Directory.
How your workforce can request access to apps
Users can go to Apps > App Directory to view all apps available to them. The list of apps in the App Directory will depend on which approval status you configure to appear.
Once a user clicks into an app they'll be able to use the Request access to this app button which will nudge the technical contact for that app informing them that a user is requesting access.
This is what the nudge for the technical contact looks like. The technical contact will be able to either grant access and reply back to the nudge informing you and the user who requested access that they have granted access or choose to contact the user directly if they cannot grant app access.
