Your organization uses Nudge Security to keep track of the software and web apps people across the company are using. It helps your IT and security teams understand what's out there, spot potential risks, and guide employees toward safer choices — without getting in your way.
What you'll notice
Most of the time, you won't interact with Nudge Security directly. But occasionally, your IT or security team will send you a nudge — a short message delivered via email or Slack/Teams asking you to take a simple action or answer a quick question.
For example, you might receive a nudge:
Asking why you signed up for a new app
Letting you know an app isn't approved by your organization
Suggesting you turn on multi-factor authentication for an account
These are meant to be quick and easy to act on. You can learn more about how to respond in Responding to a nudge.
Your organization may also give you access to the App Directory — a catalog of approved apps where you can browse what's available and request access. More on that in Requesting access to an app using the App Directory.
What Nudge Security can and can't see
Nudge Security works by looking at metadata — things like which apps you've created accounts for, what authentication method you used, and whether MFA is enabled. It does not:
Read your files or messages
Store your passwords
Monitor your screen or track your productivity
The goal is to help employees make safer choices, not to track productivity or enforce penalties.
Questions?
If you have questions about how your organization uses Nudge Security, reach out to your IT or security team — they're the ones who set it up and can explain how it applies to you specifically.
