Nudge billing contacts of upcoming renewals

If an app has an upcoming renewal you can Nudge the billing contact of the renewal automatically

Keeping your billing contacts informed about upcoming subscription renewals is an important part of managing your SaaS environment. Nudge Security lets you configure notification rules to automatically alert key stakeholders when a renewal is coming up, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Setting Billing Contacts

Every app has a Spend module that allows you to add spend related information. You can set the billing contact, billing frequency and renewal date for specific apps you want billing contacts to be notified about in this module.

For apps that we discover spend data we will also add a Spend section which will include details around invoices, billing contacts, etc. We'll auto set spend related data based on what we discover but you should double check to make sure it's set to the correct billing contact.

Create the notification rule to Nudge billing contacts

Navigate to Notifications → Rules and create a new rule

Once you're ready to create the notification rule to Nudge billing contacts you can go to Notifications → Rules in the nav and click on Create new rule +

Select the App option and set conditions

From there you'll want to select the App tile, add your Renewal Date event and define the value. You can notify when renewal date is less than:

  • 30 days

  • 60 days

  • 90 days

  • 120 days

After this you'll want to select your notification method. If you select the Nudge method the Nudge that will be used will focus on Nudging the specific billing contact for any app that has an upcoming renewal within the time frame you defined in the previous step.

You can mix and match notification methods and send a notification to an email, Slack user/channel, or even a webhook.

Pro Tip

You can create multiple rules for different time intervals (e.g., 30, 14, and 7 days out) or different app types (critical tools vs. long tail apps).
